Acting
Acting is most beautiful when it is in no way selfimportant. Not effortless, although that is what it should look like in calm scenes, but deprived of the ego of the actor. The actor should step aside and simply let the character do his thing, tell his story.
Speaks
Doing speaks can be quite a challenge. Wether it’s a commercial speak or documentary or infomercial – I always draw on my abilities as a translator, scriptwriter and finally of course as an actor/director. There are so many nuances and in the end just one way to bring the message to the final product. Years of work and training have honed my skill to work with the fact that a german speak is almost always longer than the (mostly) english original. While this can be solved by the speed of the speak to some extent- It is a delicate balance, as too fast a speak will simply lose the customers attention. So, often I find myself having to rearrange and edit the text together with the advertising bureau, until it all works organically and smoothly. Having great respect for the product and the immense workeffort behind the text, as well as the awareness that I produce the verbal endproduct in this chain of idea-development-production, I’m proud to put in my skill, effort and efficiency to get it just right.
My customers have ranged from Widex to Sennheiser and Bang & Olufsen – and Lego to Carlsberg and Hyundai, just to name a few.
Beside speaks I also do Audiobooks, which I have done mainly for Egmont, where I have worked since 2013 and accumulated quite the catalogue.
I have my own studio and work in protools.
Writing
Writing is best tackled one word at a time. Much like stepping on stones to cross a brook. At times carefully, cause the waters are cold and deep…at other times jumping hellbent and carelessly, not minding the fall, breaking the surface.
